Gas Fitting in Brisbane

Gas Fitting in Brisbane

Cockatoo Plumbing Electrical helps Brisbane homeowners and businesses plan gas appliance connections, pipework and hot water work. From a replacement cooker to equipment for a commercial kitchen, start with a conversation about what you need the installation to do. Tim can review the proposed work, existing supply and appliance information before a scope is agreed.

Based in Toowong, we welcome enquiries about natural gas and LPG installations. Call 0450 963 633 (or 0416 230 789) to discuss the property, equipment and intended programme. Clear coordination between the equipment supplier, property owner and gasfitter helps turn an equipment purchase into a practical installation plan.

Gas appliances for homes

Discuss installation or replacement of a gas stove, heater, barbecue or water heater with Tim. The starting point is the right appliance for the fuel and proposed location, together with suitable connections and supply. A new appliance should be assessed against its own installation instructions; replacing an older unit does not establish compatibility.

If you have selected equipment, share its make, model and manufacturer information. If you are still choosing, describe how it will be used and whether the property has natural gas or LPG. This gives the discussion a useful starting point before equipment or installation arrangements are committed.

Gas cooktops and ovens may need gas, plumbing and electrical connections together. Because we also hold a QLD Electrical Contractor Licence, those connections can be planned in the same scope.

Commercial kitchen gas fitting

Plan gas connections alongside the rest of the kitchen, so equipment requirements can be considered together. A stove, fryer or other gas appliance may affect the available supply when added to existing equipment. Discuss the complete equipment list and layout before the fit-out programme is finalised.

For a leased café, restaurant or shop, include the landlord’s or centre’s relevant requirements and the person authorised to approve the work. Tim can review the proposed trade scope and identify matters needing coordination with the supplier or other responsible parties. Appliance installation is not a substitute for any required ventilation, design or authority approvals.

Food premises often bring commercial stoves, fryers and other gas cooking equipment together with commercial sinks, hand basins and kitchen exhaust. We coordinate the gas fitting with the plumbing, electrical and ventilation and kitchen exhaust work for the fit-out.

Natural gas pipework and meter coordination

Discuss new appliance connections, alterations to existing pipework and proposed changes to the installation. The assessment needs to consider the connected equipment and available supply. A nearby pipe or existing connection alone does not show that another appliance can be added.

Meter or supply changes may involve the network operator or gas supplier. Tim can help identify the relevant coordination needed for the proposed work. Operator-controlled equipment remains subject to that operator’s requirements; the agreed scope should make those responsibilities clear.

Gas pipework and connections run from the gas meter to each appliance, and installations are completed to AS/NZS 5601.1, the Australian standard for gas installations.

LPG installations and cylinder arrangements

For an LPG enquiry, describe the appliances, existing cylinder arrangement and location. Discuss installation, connection and testing requirements before changing the setup. The equipment and proposed work need assessment against the applicable requirements.

Ask Tim about the cylinder supply or exchange arrangements needed for your installation. The responsible supplier, proposed cylinder arrangement and installation work should be identified together. Cylinder supply or exchange is distinct from cylinder requalification.

Gas hot water

Discuss a gas water heater installation or replacement around the property’s hot water needs. Share the existing model, fuel type, location and what has changed. Selecting an appropriate replacement involves the proposed installation and demand, rather than matching only the old unit’s appearance.

Associated plumbing, electrical or supplier work should be identified in the proposed scope. For more information about hot water enquiries, see our hot water service page. Leave gas adjustments, disconnection and installation work to appropriately licensed people.
